Innovation Architect - 039034
at Nike, Inc in Portland, OR
The heart of Nike is built around one simple idea -- innovate. Whether that innovation is called Nike Air or ACG or Nike Swift or Nike Shox, the principle is the same: think something that nobody has thought before, or improve something that already exists. It's how we create our products, and it's the way we treat the people we work with.
So take chances. Think bigger than the next achiever. Just know one thing. The more you succeed, the higher we'll raise the bar.
But would you really want it any other way?
As our Innovation Architect, you’ll establish and lead the Global Digital Commerce’s Innovation roadmap and standards for front-end development processes and tools as they pertain to the online user experience. You’ll connect with business partners to understand their strategies and initiatives, work to understand how existing or new processes/technologies can be applied to enable business capabilities, and influence our business teams and creative agencies to make responsible implementation decisions that provide maximum benefits and efficiency while keeping risk manageable. You’ll also work to understand our technology landscape (front-end), maintain working relationships with key technology partners to understand their stated directions (R|GA, Adobe/S7, Photography Vendor(s), etc.), and help ensure that Nike is getting the best leverage from investments. This role will be highly collaborative with the GIT Architecture team and will help to bring together a full vision of front- and back-end technologies as well as maximize the assets that we have today. You’ll work to understand our industry, keep abreast of industry developments and trends, and research new technologies where appropriate and facilitate their introduction into the organization. You’ll partner with the NIKEiD and Digital Commerce business teams, Innovation Kitchen, and key partners across Nike to establish leading-edge consumer experiences as they pertain to consumers’ experience online and in retail (MS Surface, Adobe Air for mobile retail, 3D imaging, digital printing, etc.). You’ll also collaborate with the GIT Architecture team to establish a complete vision and a 3-year creative/technical roadmap that incorporates technologies and processes that underpin our front-end consumer experiences. You’ll review existing processes and technologies and devise strategies to enhance current implementations and processes to maximize benefits. In addition, you’ll work with project teams at project start to ensure the appropriate solutioning against requested project objectives.
Requirements for the position include:
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Interactive (Digital) Marketing, with technical competencies
• 8+ years’ relevant technical experience
• 5+ years’ experience in a technical discipline with a focus on web technologies and creative design, preferably to include work supporting consumer experience development and innovation, with experience in strategic concept development and rapid prototyping
• Experience within the creative field (interactive) is preferred, with a strong base in creative development tools (Adobe), imaging (Scene7), and Flash/Flex development
• Ability to demonstrate expertise in multiple technical areas of focus
Interested yet? Good. Us too. We're pretty sure you'll want to know we offer one of the most generous benefits packages around. Things like a stock purchase plan, a 401(k) retirement plan, casual work environment, childcare and a host of other perks we don't have room to mention here.
