BreakoutBand is an exciting emerging start-up in New York. We are angel funded, in private beta and are looking for a PHP Developer to be part of a terrific team. We are building a unique music experience for teens that really taps into their creative side and is highly social. We are in search of someone with a great work ethic who wants to make a difference in a small start-up launching into public life with significant business opportunity.
We’re looking for a senior/lead PHP engineer with extensive experience building PHP, feature rich multimedia web applications to lead a social networking application development on a LAMP stack. Currently it is PHP/Apache/MySql/CentOS. This position is available in Brooklyn New York.
A passion for music, kids and social gaming will help. We are looking to have some fun and build something special.
We will want code samples as a starting point.
Experience/Skills
o PHP 5 highest level expertise, including 6+ years of PHP software development and architecture experience (AMF PHP)
o Experience in agile development relevant for a fast-paced iterative startup
o Experience with building actual, live social networks and/or social games
o Zend Framework with doctrine ORM
o Web applications using primarily PHP and web interfaces using xhtml, css and java script
o Object Oriented background
o Media management of all types (upload, manipulation, publishing, sharing)
o Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
o MySQL database/SQL coding
o Knowledge of TCP/IP and network programming
o Memcached and other open source caching systems
o eCommerce, credit card authorizations, and billing feature experience
o Multi-language/localization
o Formal testing tools/use cases/test plans
o Python a bonus
