UX Consultant

Arum Systems Ltd is looking for a UX Consultant to join their product and RIA development team and take part in shaping exciting new and existing RIA projects in Scotland and the rest of the UK and Europe.
Candidates must be based in Scotland or willing to re-locate, already have relevant working permits and be willing to travel. Portfolio essential.
Responsibilities:
- Work with clients to understand their requirements and business needs and design highly interactive and usable interfaces that best use the rich internet application experience
- Work with Arum team members to ensure that the clients’ needs are met in the resultant rich internet applications
- Prepare and hold workshops with clients and observe their operations to best understand the nature of their requirements
- Produce wireframes for clients
- Produce high quality visual designs, graphic assets and visual specification documents for developers
- Plan and document interactions and choreography
- Liaise with the technical team to ensure that visual designs are feasible to implement and implemented effectively
Essential Skills:
- Good interpersonal and team working skills
- Strong and proven analysis skills
- Ability to liaise with clients at all levels in a professional manner
- Ability to present own proposals to clients
- Ability present own proposals to Arum technical team
- An appreciation for good design aesthetics
- Strong focus on attention to detail
- Ability to share expertise with Arum staff
- Experience with Illustrator and/or Photoshop and/or Fireworks
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Flash and Flex
- Working knowledge of CSS or ActionScript
- Experience working as a professional interface designer with a strong portfolio
- Experience creating innovative and successful product interfaces and web applications
- A keen understanding of basic usability principles
- A keen understanding of basic accessibility principles
- Experience of the user centred design approach
- Experience working in agile development teams
- Good numeracy
