User Interface Designer
at EffectiveUI in Denver, CO
We are looking for a middle or senior level UI Designer with strong interests and capabilities in the rapid development of rich Internet applications. The ideal candidate will thrive in a work environment that requires strong problem solving skills and independent self-direction, coupled with an aptitude for team collaboration and open communication. The candidate will also have extensive experience in a fast-paced and innovative development environment.
The ideal candidate will specialize in one of the following while being capable of all three:
• Usability and interaction design
• Designing of artistic skins or applications
• Inventing new UI paradigms and user experiences
Required experience and skills:
• 2 or more years of user interface design experience focused around visual design for software applications, web, CDROM, or kiosks
• 2 or more years of information architecture experience
• Strong knowledge of Fireworks, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or Flash
• Good knowledge of and experience with user interface design patterns, visual design elements, web technologies, and development methodologies
• Basic project management skills to track all project work.
Any of the following skills are a plus:
• 2D or 3D illustration
• Flash animation
• Flex development
• Actionscript /Javascript/HTML/CSS/MXML Coding
• Sound Editing
The following is an example of regular job duties
• Gathering information architecture, usability, and visual requirements
• Brainstorming usability best practices and innovation
• Designing information architecture diagrams and usability wireframes
• Artistically designing application skins
• Deciding on animated transitions for various application elements
• Creating styleguides of the application skins using Adobe Fireworks
• Following up with the developers of a project to ensure visual consistency with the styleguides
