AS3/Flex Contractor
at Perform in London near Heathrow
REPORTS TO: Rich Media Architect

Relevant Experience: If you have worked with one of the major world broadcasters in streaming Flash based media we want to talk to you.
Key criteria - I do not want to see code samples of long rambling garbage classes.
Your role
As a contractor to the Rich Media Development Team Member at Perform you will be developing in Flash/Flex for one of World’s leading streaming media providers. We are seeking experienced AS3/ Flex developers with a deep understanding of browser based enterprise scale video applications. We are looking for someone who understands how to implement solid and reliable video applications that will weather the software life cycle with grace and follow a developmental road map for feature deployment.
Passionate about the Flash platform and technology with the ability to translate that passion in to meaningful implementations of code.
A track record of working with major providers of streaming media content.
The candidate should be forward looking in terms of the Flash platform and be familiar with beta products listed on labs.adobe.com
Ownership and responsibility of the projects that they are asked to deliver.
Location: Feltham, London (Near Heathrow)
Hours: Standard (37.5)

Perform Group was created by the merger of Premium TV and Inform Group in 2007 and have since become leaders in their field. The team works on media and video projects, streamlining live video through a variety of media players for over 195 clients (in 2008 alone!). Most notably, Perform house the websites for many Football League and Premier League football clubs and have produced 427,500 live clips for their clients since Jan 2008.
Primary Responsibilities
To deliver AS3 based applications using Flex/FlashBuilder/AS3/MXML that meets client expectations and that integrate with Perform’s technical platform.
Key Responsibilities
Implement Flex/AS3 solutions
Integrate products with back end systems, primarily XML
Work to the architectural specifications
Deliver projects on time and to client’s expectations
Deliver documentation of relevance to 1st line support staff in ASDocs format
Hours may require some weekends, to be discussed at the interview
Use unit testing and test plans
Carry out other tasks requested by Senior Management where these are agreed to be reasonable and achievable
Essential Skills
Have a track record of delivering solid OO AS3 code for a major streaming media provider
An excellent understanding of OO development
Demonstrable experience of problem solving within Flash/Flex/AS3
Use of custom components, SWC’s, libraries and modularisation techniques
Use of standard components, their underlying classes and the significant interfaces of AS3
Have worked in a high volume Internet environment
Experience generating ASDocs
Flash or Flex ACE certification are desirable but not essential
Soft Skills
Work in a team
An interest in a range of sports and related media
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
Self motivated and pro-active
Detail oriented
