Senior Flex/Flash Developer
Job description
StreamTheWorld is looking for a Senior Flex/Flash Developer to create complex video and audio Flash clients and to create and maintain development tools. The candidate will need to have good leadership skills and be expert with Flex/Flash, Action Script and Flash-object oriented programming as well as a strong knowledge of XML/XSL, HTML and JavaScript.
This mandate is temporary (3 to 6 months) but with possibilities for extension or conversion into a permanent position.
Main responsibilities
• Development of a Flex/Flash application toolkit aimed at reducing development times of future applications;
• Development of Flash applications embedded within customer web pages;
• Documentation of development work for internal use as well as external (customer) use.
Required skills
• Expert knowledge and experience with Flex 2/3, Flash 9/10, Action Script 2/3;
• Experience in Flash object-oriented programming and integration;
• Experience in UI programming;
• Advanced knowledge XML/XSL, HTML and JavaScript;
• Web application development experience and Web 2.0 technologies;
• Excellent leadership and communication in English and French (written and verbal) and great interpersonal skills;
• Team work oriented ;
• Excellent problem analysis skills;
• Experience with implementing and maintaining unit test suites;
• Experience in automating UI integration tests;
• Open to using 3rd party frameworks, API’s and tools.
Strong asset:
• Experience in Media playback application with video and audio content delivered either On Demand or Live/Real-time;
• Thoroughness;
• Ownership.
