RIA / GUI Technical Architect - NYC
at Design in New York City
High-profile NYC based global design firm seeks RIA/GUI-savvy TECHNICAL ARCHITECT to join their NYC studio. Must have consulting/agency experience.
The Role:
The TA defines the technology roadmap and design vision for each software or digital media project. The TA is a highly respected, client-facing role that is responsible for software application architecture, use case discovery, and recommending appropriate technology platforms/tools/practices. TAs are key contributors across all studios for creating and improving tools, processes, and best practices.
The TA serves as the technical design ‘go-to person’ and is responsible for driving the technology solution from concept to completion by working with multi-disciplinary teams. Will author and maintain design documents, database/schema design, software requirements specifications, and high-level software architecture documents.
Seeking a bkgd in the following areas:
• Web 2.0 Solutions
• Social Networking Applications
• Agile software development
• UML Modeling
• J2EE, Ruby on Rails, PHP
• CMS and Web Publishing
Must be familiar with agency/consulting process, setting process, crafting proposals, participate pitches
Agile Development/SCRUM experience is a major plus
Computer science or math bkgd preferred, and an HCI/design/usability interest/bkgd, and some experience with innovation, design, design firms
Either desktop or web software exp (web software exp is preferred)
Seeking web applications experience --- not a front ender/PLD person only, but also Java, Ruby, Python, J2EE, or some combination thereof
Must have experience with OO Patterns, MVC model view control
